Breakout Sunday – 12th September
Sep 8th
On Sunday 12th September we’re kicking off the first of our Breakout Sundays!
At 1pm, after our Sunday morning celebration at Manchester Academy, we’ll gather together and head out for some Treasure Hunting on the streets of Manchester!
Breakout Sundays will be happening once a month on a Sunday afternoon: 12th September, 10th October, 14th November and 12th December. We’ll be doing a variety of different Breakout activations: treasure hunting, healing on the streets, servant evangelism… all with the expectation of seeing God’s Kingdom come!
“This is an incredible opportunity for our church to stand together and encourage one another as we take our city for God” – Phil Smith
So join us on Sunday! For more info, get in touch via the contact form.
What is treasure hunting?
“Treasure Hunting” is a term used to describe a particular style of prophetic evangelism. Essentially, before we go out, we wait on God and ask Him to give us specific ‘clues’ as to who He would like us to share His love with. The clues can be a location, something to do with someone’s clothing or appearance, a word of knowlege for healing or absolutely anything God could use to pinpoint someone! These clues then get written down on our ‘treasure map’, and we head out to look for the trasure! When we find someone who matches one or more of our clues we talk to them, showing them our treasure map, and share the love of God with them. This can be as simple as telling them God loves them and they’re precious to Him, or praying for healing and/or salvation with them. Treasure hunting helps us open our eyes to what God is saying and doing in the here and now, it helps us learn to step out in faith as we respond to the Holy Spirit’s prompting.
